Thank you for this. Yes, corrupt leaders have usually been male but the current administration has plenty of corrupt females who adhere to patriarchy; that is, domination and oppression whether they're aware of it or not. They are known by their deeds.

Thank you, sir. A very well supported thesis, to which most Americans can attest from their myriad respective lived perspectives. It seems clear that the decline of our institutional safeguards started eroding in earnest with the rise of Fox and other media truth twisters, but the scope of corruption literally exploded after the SCOTUS 5-4 opinion in Citizens United v. FEC. The majority's legal fiction designating corporations as "people" under the Constitution and cash as free speech opened the floodgates of dark corporate and uberrich political bribery. The rest became easily predictable history; private wealth was instantly weaponized and turned into unlimited political power, literally drowning out the vox populi (the human, non-corporate, people actually intended by the Framers to be protected under the Constitution). When I think of our corrupt SCOTUS majority and special interest wholly owned Congress, I am reminded of the old Oliver Hardy refrain when he was at least partially responsible for a disastrous consequence, "Here's another fine mess you've gotten us into." Or Pogo's famous line, "We have met the enemy, and he is us!"

“It was never really about him. It was about the validation. The absolution. The permission. He didn’t invent the resentment; he amplified it. He didn’t create the cruelty; he normalized it. He gave millions the intoxicating relief of hearing their ugliest impulses echoed back at rally volume.

Trump is a symptom. The deeper illness is collective. If there’s one sentence that defines his power, it’s this: “He says the things I’m thinking.”

And that’s the part that should chill us.

Because what does it say about us that so many were thinking those things? That tens of millions of Americans harbored resentments so deep, so seething, that they were simply waiting for a demagogue to baptize them as virtue? That after decades of supposed progress on race, gender, and equality, so many white men felt so threatened, so displaced, so furious, that cruelty became a political platform?”--Michael Jochum, https://substack.com/home/post/p-190123223

Your remarks in my estimation are on the mark. Thank you.

The Heritage Foundation and their founders are the ones behind all this. They are white supremacists who courted Ronald Reagan as their first controlled puppet. This plan has been in motion since Reconstruction. Donald Trump is a puppet who had the talent to create a following, MAGA. Project 2025 is the plan. They want their slaves back. In return for doing a great job, the Trump grifting family get to use the USA as their business.

I whole heartedly agree with your assersiton in this article concerning Trump and Fox News. However, to malign the Republican party and Fox News, while giving the Democratic party, CNN, CNBC and their ilk a pass is disingenuous. Republicans and Democrats are the two wings of the same bird of prey, and we're the prey. They are essentially a Uniparty who work in tandem to achieve their desired outcome - United Nations Agenda 2030 (aka New World Order). Obama and Biden set in motion the conditions which led to MAGA and Trump. The destruction of the USA, and the relentless march towards the NWO, proceed regardless of which party is in office. In fact, the two party system is in place for the purpose of dividing and conquering. The system is working exactly as it was designed to work. It isn't how the founding fathers designed it to work, but how the quislings amongst us for the past 250 years, and subverted and the system, designed it to work. I believe Trump is in place to engineer their "Checkmate!"on us.

Okay, so what? Politics in America has always been corrupt; it’s just more out in the open under Trump.

I do not believe so. The corruption is more deeply embedded. Now, we must resist the grifters to save our democracy. That means acting within the law. That means organizing to support candidates who believe in our democracy. That means we need to create a truly fair tax system. That means we must overturn the Citizens United decision. That means that we need to abolish the Electoral College.

Good luck with that. If what’s happened since Trump returned to office has you still believing your dreams might happen, all the power to you!
