Like everyone, we all have our own experiences. This should be in the comments from the Bob Drogan “War on The Press” piece. But it’s here. As I too am a dinosaur! The point is that in 2023, I was patiently waiting for accountability to Trumps actions on 1/6 as well as all the obvious corruption during his tenure in 1.0. For whatever reason Merick Garland waited to appoint a special counsel. Reporters video taped the Ryder trucks being loaded with who know what on Trumps reluctant first exit. Maybe one day.
Ever since I read about Trumps bone spur to get him out of being drafted to Vietnam, while my three brothers were all drafted, my oldest served in the Army in 65/66 and thank god he came back in one piece, in body not so much in the mind. I digress sorry.
This is more about in 2023 my long time friend from the seventies who was our daughter’s godfather, we would talk about policy during 1.0. Well in 2023 when I was trying to explain to him why my disdain for Trump was so great, I would get into heated arguments because I seen the manipulation from Fox News always reporting fiction, in my view. Mike would tell me that if Biden won for a second term, before he, Biden stepped out. (I was mad that Biden didn’t give Harris a better chance by deciding instead of being a transitional President and not allowing a Dem. primary was a big mistake. Even though she was my choice.) Anyway Mike would argue with me that we will loose our democracy if Dems get control again. Seemed policy was not an issue for Mike. That was the last time we talked as I asked him to do a little homework from 1.0, for instance the healthcare policy GOP & Trump was going to provide in two weeks. Well we know where that went. As well as the difference in infrastructure packages between the two. Since I was in the trades and some friends worked on Trump tower in Chicago, they would say how the trump org would try to screw the various trade contractors by not getting the draws or threatening law suits to get out of paying the contractors. As well as everything in between on Trump.
Long story shot he died in March of 2025, I was never informed until I went to his place in April and met his older brother moving his belonging’s out of his home. I went to ask Mike how he felt about Trump pardoning the 1/6 ers. Well I will never know. Sadly it was bad reporting agencies and what I think the FCC allowing lies without fact checks being aired keeping the cable news networks unaccountable for what they were broadcasting.
Long gone are news outlets checking facts, I think it’s up to the authors on getting facts out. We now live in a world of algorithms and click bait.
Everything this administration is against our constitution and the bending of laws and norms. I do worry about the mid terms. This reason is because when I try to talk facts and realities to Trump and GOP supporters most all still support this admin. I have met with local conservatives, some outright say they are Natzis, most will not read a bill to find out what the bill is trying to accomplish. While most convey the distrust in government and just seem like they are ok with corruption in front of our eyes. I will say that if Dems regain control again they need to start removing judges hold many hearings for accountability and prosecutions as many as days we have been having to live through this bullshit. Lawyers have gotten us here, it’s time they right the ship. Jack Smith needs to finish the job! Sorry for the long rant but these are my facts. Just like the treaty Obama had with Iran and now oill companies are making bank while our oil is being sold elsewhere and strategic reserves are being depleted that will no doubt bring back the 70’s gas wars. While a select few make bank with insider trading. I wonder what Martha Stewart thinks about this??
Ok well I’ve said my concerns, wait no Mike Johnson needs to be held to account. This mixing religion with government is sickening. These Hippocrates need to rot in hell. If there is a hell.
