I was surprised as I researched this piece just how active Trump and the Trump Administration have been over the past six weeks in setting up the predicates, substantive and institutional, for taking action to interfere with and to seek to control the outcomes of the Midterm elections in November, in violation of basic Constitutional norms. One important question will be whether the Roberts Court chooses to suspend or overturn any such actions on Constitutional grounds should Trump, Blanche, Patel, Hegseth, Mullin, and the DNI's new head, Jay Clayton, follow through with the kind of steps Steve Bannon has predicted would be initiated as early as the last week of August, such as Trump declaring a national emergency regarding the elections to justify the Trump Administration taking further efforts to implement federal control over them, and to threaten anyone who may try to get in the way.

We have to have the elections and we HAVE to vote in order make it such a large number it can not be contested. The court's are giving orders and people in this regime are not following court orders. It is insane.
The more votes people cast for democrats this year, the more difficult it will be for Trump to succeed in any effort to overturn the Midterms. Every vote helps even those cast in the Congressional districts where Trump has had the strongest support in the past. Maybe especially these. Including for instance in Texas and Florida.

When the IC given the task of protecting us, is essentially weaponized, we are indeed taking another step into fascism, making way for the authoritarian and oligarchs. Excellent analysis of the threat the current regime poses to free and fair elections. The role Steady State has played in questioning the legitimacy of at least one document that will be relied on to invoke emergency authority of some sort is critical. Will the Roberts Majority look behind the curtain and question false narratives being used to justify election interference, or will they fold and treat presidential statements as if uttered by an infallible pope (or king)?
